Sammy Wright was born in Melbourne, Australia. From a young age he developed a passion for performing and music. Sam was accepted into the Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA), where he completed a Bachelor of Arts (Musical Theatre). Once finished, he performed in a touring show of 'Beauty & The Beast'. It was during this time an interest developed for Film & Television, whereby he studied courses at The New York Film Academy (NYFA), National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Screen Acting School (SAS) and most recently a masterclass with Christian Kaplan (Vice President-20th Century Fox studios). During 2007 Sammy was performing in a stage production of "Sweeney Todd" when he was asked to audition for the Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks HBO mini series "The Pacific", for which he was cast in a featured role. After experiencing the famous Captain Dale Dye physical boot camp training, the production was shot in Australia during 2007-2008. It has received multiple Award s including an Emmy for 'Most Outstanding Mini-Series (2010)'. This particular production was to be a life changing experience for Sammy. He has now worked on a number of feature Films and Television productions as an Actor but also a Military Advisor including award winning productions of: "Beneath Hill 60", "Kokoda", "For Valour" and recently working for the dual Academy Award nominee director Roland Joffe in the production, "Singularity".
